Lee Roy Selmon's life is one of football scholarship, family service and involvement in the community. First family he is the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon. They grew up on a family farm near Eufala, Oklahoma. He was also one of three brothers who played for Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers were all All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award as well as the Lombardi Award for being the best lineman in the country. During his three years as Oklahoma's starting quarterback The Sooners recorded a 32-1-1 record and won two national titles. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975. He was also named as a National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer times a week in his time in college. Following college, he moved to Tampa and played for nine seasons with the Buccaneers were all-pro three times and started a business career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa and worked for the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the most prominent young men in the country. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265lbs during his time playing college football. The year 1975 was the first time he was the captain of the squad. He was hired by the University of South Florida in 1993 as the associate director of sports. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, as well as in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
