
Suzanne Pleshette, born January 31, 1937, passed away January 19, 2008, in the US. She was an American film TV, theatre and voice actress. 1 Pleshette began her career in theatre and started appearing in films towards the end of the 1950s. Later, she appeared in films with a prominent name like Rome Adventure (1962), Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds (1963), and Spirited Away (2001). From 1972 until 1978, Pleshette was a regular guest on television productions of various kinds. She also was the character Emily Hartley, which earned her numerous Emmy Award nominations. Pleshette, a daughter of Geraldine (nee Kaplan),[1 and Eugene Pleshette, was born on January 31, 1937, in Brooklyn Heights. Her parents were Jewish and the children of immigrants from Russia, Austria-Hungary. She was the daughter of Geraldine Rivers, a performer and dancer. Her father was the stage director for the Paramount Theater, Manhattan, as well as the Paramount Theater, Brooklyn.
